Sasha was formed in 1978 to address the exploitation and marginalization of artisans in India. Built on the principles of equity, transparency, social justice and environmental concern, Sasha seeks to sustain traditional Indian craft while providing a stable income to people within marginalized communities.
"I bought a sari and some ornaments for myself that I would not have been able to afford otherwise. I struggled financially before, and even if I wanted or needed something, I would not have been able to afford it. I feel happy because I have freedom to buy things for myself."
